MORE

OH DEAR.  Life got us this last while! Do you even have weeks like that?Flu bug in the house left me unable to blog and then other things of life too that I'll save for a special post later. It was ahem.. MORE than I could imagine in ways I won't describe.

But thankfully some details of that more is over and I am so MUCH MORE excited to be here with you. I've been literally so excited to share this.  I can't wait to tell you this story!

So are you ready? I've got another lovely truth bath bomb for us to soak in today.

God is able. Able to do MORE. More than you can IMAGINE. 

I don't know what you imagine God can do if you opened your heart to it. Or if you even are willing to give him a chance by imagining what He could do in your life. But he's so capable that if you watch, that if you give even a bit of a chance to Him...he will blow your mind with His goodness and power and presence and peace and timing. He WILL.

If you wonder that a little, if you have apprehension and distrust I get it. I understand. But I have to tell you a little story. A story of HIS goodness and HIS favor and HIS timing.  So could you give me a listen?

Here's the little story:
I have the awesome priviledge of being a kids pastor for about 150+ kids from Gr. 1-5 in our community with a dream team of volunteers. These kids ALL the time show us the MORE of God. Their hearts are wide open to all HE can do and being a part of it. We've seen a lot of lives touched through these little world changers.

​Recently we had the awesome priviledge of collecting pop tabs to help raise awareness and research funding for children with cystinosis. Without knowing a little girl named Olivia, my kids quickly became totally consumed about changing the world for a cause that was dear to their heart. Helping a little friend they had never met who needed help.

These kids did bold things. They started initiatives in their schools. They talked to principals and teachers. They talked to classrooms and peers. They talked to parents and neighbours and family and friends. And they brought in pop tabs in droves.

Fast forward about 8 months later and 2 big BIG shipments of tabs towards that cause. My family went on a couple weeks of much needed vacation. Just a little camping trip for some R and R so hold onto that story for a second. I''ll come back to it.

Second day in we go for a drive to a little town. I see a sign for the LIV A LITTLE FOUDATION. I recognize that sign. That's for the sign for the group we've been collecting for. At my excitement and request my husband turns around so I can go into a little shoppe and talk to the owner. Like a proud momma I show pictures of my kiddos and the tabs they've collected. Turns out the owner sells purple bows to raise money for cystinosis. They've painted the town purple for the cause. And she knows how to contact the family. My heart is happy. I just want to say HI to this family we've prayed for for so long!

So a couple of days later we go to the beach. We stop in little shops up the street on our bikes. And my husband sees a LIV A LITTLE FOUNDATION water bottle on the owners counter in another store. Again proud momma moment I must share a picture of the 150 world changers I have the opportunity to travel with and what they have been up to. And turns out THIS IS OLIVIA'S GRANDFATHER. And he tells us how to meet the family.

Do you see a pattern here, friend? We are meant to meet. MEANT to meet. God was so UP TO MORE.

So we march down the street with smiles that can't be undone. And we wait and then meet this wonderful momma and hear her story of how she got this big shipment from us just as her grandad passes and she knows somehow they've been replaced. 

So after we meet this beautiful momma, we set up to meet this wonderful family one day on our camping trip. And we meet and we chat. AND CHAT. We chat for what seems like minutes but is hours and we connect hearts and stories. We hear how they have been spending time trying to share in this community and make change for those who need to take medications and for cystinosis research. We hear about heart aches and medications and boldly embracing what can't be changed and bravely walking on to MAKE change.

And me? I  get to bring back to my beautiful little people a story. A story of faithful God doing more than we can ask or imagine with their little offering of pop tabs. 

And my kids? My kids eyeballs open wide because at THAT time in the summer our memory verse had been Ephesians 3:20. How God is able to do more than we can ask or imagine. And we hadn't asked or imagined that we would be sent to meet this family and connect on a whole new level. What joy. What goodness. What MORE. More than we can imagine. MORE with our pop tabs than we asked.  Meeting a heart need in a time of grief. MORE with our story than we imagined. GROWING it into a deeper circle of connection. We continue to pray for this family and for the cure to be found. 

God IS good. He is able to do MORE. More than we ask. More than we imagine.

In honesty this family who started the liv-a-little=foundation and give of their heart to change this world didn't chose this lifestyle. They wouldn't have. None of us chose difficulty but in this broken world it touches so harshly sometimes.

BUT GOD. GOD IS ABLE TO DO MORE THAN WE ASK OR IMAGINE. And this little family is marching bravely towards changing cystinosis research and loving on the lives affected by living RARE. They didn't ask or imagine this was the path their lives would take but are now so beautifully giving back to the world and leading others to help and support. They are beautiful people on a journey.  God IS going to do MORE than they could ask or imagine with their efforts. What a legacy they are leaving. What a story He wants to write in their open hearts and lives.

And today.. look for it. He's up to MORE. More is going on below the surface than what you see. More is going to happen than what meets the eye. You go sow some seeds of love and truth and watch what starts to surface above the ground. Because there is a whole heap of a lot going on beneath the surface of the soil. He's growing things with your faithful seeds. 

So go collect some pop tabs. Go bring a meal to a friend. Go listen (REALLY LISTEN) to that crossing guard. Go smile at the cashier. Go ask and move in some way EVEN in your difficult situation. Go do something and trust him with the results. He's up to MORE. More than you can ask or imagine. And you've got to believe it to see it.
